Experience
I am a Haiti native from Port au Prince. I attended grammar through high school, along with some college-level French. In 2006, I immigrated to the US for higher education. I have a masters from Wheaton College in biblical exegesis (ancient Greek and Hebrew interpretation), along with a bachelor's in pastoral ministry from Moody Bible Institute-Chicago. I am primarily a language tutor in French 1 through 4 and Greek. I prepare students for the SAT subject tests in French, both with and without listening. I use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to provide personalized instruction that is best suited to each student's needs. I believe that with the right instruction, anyone can learn to become fluent in a language. As a tutor, I work hard to identify the roadblock that is preventing the student from fully grasping the language. I believe that learning is driven by passion and motivation. I tutor by emphasizing a student's strengths, rather than focusing on their weaknesses, to bolster their confidence in their speaking and writing skills. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my two-year-old and six-month old. My wife and I take walks together, often with the children in tow. I also spend time with my friends.
