From time to time, I cover local news in the Oak Lawn area. -August 2009 - November 2009: Working with two mentor teachers in Park Ridge, I taught four sections of high school history to sophomores and juniors. As part of my student teaching requirements, I created authentic lesson plans and participated in open houses and parent-teacher conferences. -July 2009: Completion of Undergraduate honors thesis (85 pages) entitled "The Social Institution of Dueling in Antebellum America" under the direction of Dr. Timothy Roberts. -November 2008: I participated in a short-term study abroad program in Berlin, Germany. Two of my history papers, "Otto Skorzeny and the Trial of "the Most Dangerous Man in Europe" and "Honor and Impunity in the Early American Republic" were published in this journal. I have a passion for reading, writing and research. During my student teaching, I found that developing these skills are extremely important to everyone from high school students to those pursuing an advanced degree.
